I always tend to feel a sort of sentimental sadness when an
era draws to a close.
As the dissertations are handed in, the exams finished and
the exhibition spaces are painted. I find myself gazing over the past three
years with fond feelings and yes, just a few little pinching regrets.
I think its only natural to look back in hindsight and
wonder what could I have done differently? why didn’t I relax more? or how come I lost touch with that person?
These thoughts come to everyone, simply because everyones
university experience is different. Comparisons are easily made.
It’s pretty easy to start panicking and worrying that you
missed something or should’ve done something differently but take it from me…relax!
Uni was great you had your high times and your low times,
there were times when you felt on top of the world, times when you cried
yourself to sleep and times when you laughed so hard it hurt.
Everyone takes something away from their Uni days, embrace
what your something is and a year from now look back and say “Mt UNI years were great”.
This is a great time.
All of a sudden it’s the morning after you’ve graduated and
it hits you, the days of deadlines and cramming for exams are done. And you can
literally do whatever you want with the rest of your life.
How Exciting!..and scary but have no fear you have time to
think. No one has to make up their mind about the rest of their life just like
that, you can’t its impossible.
You may have just spent the last five years discovering
yourself but now its time to discover the world.
Get out there, take a chance, say yes to as many opportunities
as you can and find something that grows you and makes you happy. Do what you
want to do, not what other people say you’re supposed to do.
You will know you are living right if you are excited about where your life is headed, even if you're not sure where your destination is. If not, that’s a sign its time to make a change to get you there.
So don’t feel sad when you’re packing all your stuff into
boxes to move out of your shared houses.
You’re on your way to a thrilling new chapter in your life.
Good Luck!
